2010 has been a year full of automobile recalls, with the likes of BMW, Daimler, Toyota and now GM, this year has proven to be a tough one for auto manufacturers. General Motors Company is recalling 2009 and 2010 Chevrolet Impala sedans due to faulty front seat belts. The seat belts are believed to be, not properly anchored, according to federal regulators and automakers on Friday.

To date, no injuries or fatalities have been reported. GM told the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it had received 32 reports of seat belts having separated from their anchorage through mid-August.

322,409 2009 and 2010 Impalas are involved in the recall.

GM will contact Chevrolet Impala customers as early as later this month to start bringing the sedans in for inspection and possible repair, free of charge.

Luxury German automaker Daimler recalls more than 85,000 Mercedes-Benz models in the U.S. over a power steering flaw that may make the vehicles difficult to control. Daimler AG is responsible for being the second-largest luxury vehicle manufacturer in the world.

“The power steering system in the subject vehicles may fail due to the loss of power steering fluid,” Daimler said on Oct. 4. “Owners may not have sufficient control of the vehicle in areas, such as parking, where maximum power steering is required, and could lead to a vehicle crash.”

Models affected by the voluntary recall include: 2010-11 E-Class Coupe/Cabriolet Model 207, and the 2010 C-Class Model 204 and E- Class Model 212.

Recalls this year by automakers have increased substantially. Toyota had to settle claims for over 50 deaths concerning hiding gas pedal defects, BMW is said to be recalling 350,800 BMW and Rolls-Royce automobile worldwide for precautionary brake problems.

A tough Thursday for BMW of North American, as the announce recalls for over 198,000 BMW and Rolls-Royce cars due to potential leaks in the power brake systems.

V12 or V8 motors power all cars listed in the power brake recall.
The list includes:

• 2004-10 BMW 645i and 650i
• 2004-10 BMW 545i and 550i
• 2003-2010 Rolls-Royce Phantom models
• 2002-08 BMW 745i/Li, 750i/Li, and 760i/Li
• 2007-08 BMW Alpina B7

BMW, the owner of Rolls-Royce says the leak can ultimately cause reduced power braking assistance.

Currently the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching an investigation into another BMW brand, the Mini.

There have been no reports of injury or death as a result of the power braking problem.

BMW Vision concept is a great design built by BMW. The car looks great. It can house 4 people. You have the ceiling made out of glass so you have a great sky-view and a great front view from the backseats. It is great for urban streets and out of town rides.

BMW Vision Concept

What I like most at this car is that it can run on electric motors for 50km in one charge. The battery can be charged through plug-in modules. It gets to 0-100km/h in just 4.8 sec and it has a very low consume. It consumes 3.76 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers and has a top speed of 250 kmph.

The weight of the vehicle is optimized by redistributing and by using light materials. This helps maximize energy efficiency.

This sure looks futuristic enough. The design came from Transportation Design School at Turing Based IED for a final project called “Designing the BMW of 2015″. The BMW ZX-6 concept looks very strange, but they say that it satisfies every modern needs, tastes and life styles of an individual.

BMW ZX-6 Design

All the designs are the size of toys now, but you can not imagine them running on the streets these days. The BMW ZX-6 design does not have rough edges, they are all rounded. The sits open and come out along with the door and apparently the front window is made out of only one piece that covers the whole car. The wheels are masked with those white circles. The purpose of the circles is that of protecting the wheels or just to add more to the artistic design of the vehicle.

There is nothing to know about the on board controls, but they should look smooth enough for a 2015 car from BMW. BMW ZX-6 future looks promising
